Light Transmission Range

The upper and lower limit of wavelengths of light that a given material transmits. Generally cited for optical materials only.

The boundaries are typically defined by the ability of a 1mm-thick sample of the material to transmit at least 10% of light at room temperature. This is a low threshold, and some application-specific data may be reported for other fractions.
