AA 4000 Series (Aluminum-Silicon Wrought Alloy)

Wrought alloys with silicon (Si) as the second largest component after aluminum (Al). Adding silicon to aluminum lowers the melting point of the resulting alloy. It is therefore popular in casting alloys. Silicon-bearing wrought alloys are mostly used in brazing or welding filler.
