ISO Solder Alloy 502 (IEC C40A10, Sn95Cu4Ag1)
Solder alloy 502 is a tin-based soldering alloy. Cited properties are appropriate for the as-fabricated (no temper or treatment) condition. C40A10 is the IEC 60672 type for this material. 502 is the ISO numeric designation. Older literature may refer to this material as S-Sn95Cu4Ag1, but this is now discouraged.
It has a moderately high heat capacity among tin-based solder alloys. In addition, it has a moderately high tensile strength and a moderately low thermal conductivity.
The graph bars on the material properties cards below compare solder alloy 502 to: tin-based solder alloys (top), all alloys in the same category (middle), and the entire database (bottom). A full bar means this is the highest value in the relevant set. A half-full bar means it's 50% of the highest, and so on.
